Does Kangen Water™ change when temperature of the water changes?

When warming Kangen water oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) becomes weak and pH decreases.
When cooling the ORP becomes weak but pH remains the same about 1 week..


Can Kangen Water™ be used when taking medicine?

Kangen water™ is designed for everyday drinking and cooking, not for taking medicine. Use clean filtered water from the device which has a pH of 7 for taking medicine.

The point is that the stomach acids have a pH of 1.8 and medications are prescribed in accordance with this pH. Therefore, we recommend at least 15 minutes before and after taking medicine drink only pure water at pH 7 because Kangen water with pH of 8.5 to 9.5 is structured and can increase the effects of certain drugs.


How long does the water stored in containers last?

Kangen water™ and pure water from the device LeveLuk should be drunk and used always fresh because each day weakens their effects. Keep this water in the refrigerator up to a week.

Water used for household, including cosmetic acidic water, strongly acidic disinfectant water and highly alkaline water require less care. We recommend storing them one week top. If you want to keep them, use an opaque container, fill it to the brim, to avoid unnecessary contact with the air and store it in a cool dark place (ideally the fridge).


How to start drinking Kangen water™?

We recommend you to start drinking Kangen water™ with a pH of 8.5 to get the body accustomed to it. After 2 weeks of regular drinking of water with pH of 8.5 switch to the Kangen water with pH of 9 and later at pH of 9.5. You should drink Kangen water™ as fresh as possible, preferably directly from the device because every day weakens its antioxidant effects. Other features remain stable over time..


Can infants drink Kangen water™?

In the case of infants (under one year) it is recommended to drink clean water from a neutral instrument, which has a pH of 7. Bowel movements of infants differ from adults because they drink only breast milk or other milk.

When a child starts eating more sophisticated food then as adults it can start drinking ionized Kangen water™. In any case Kangen water™ should not be used for drinking or for the preparation of milk from milk powder for infants, instead, you should use only Clean water which is neutral.


Why is not Kangen water™ packed?

Because the unique properties of Kangen water™ will last for approximately 2-3 days, then antioxidant potential of water decreases. It should therefore be drunk fresh, directly from the device. It is also environmentally friendly because plastics are filling landfills around the world. Did you know that in the EU in 2011 only 51% plastics were recycled?


How is alkaline Kangen water™ produced in LeveLuk?

Kangen water™ is produced with tap water by electrolysis in the device. Drinking tap water allows this because it is naturally mineral as it contains minerals of magnesium ions (Mg), calcium (Ca) and sodium (Na). Thanks to the minerals in the water electrolysis can run which splits water into alkaline Kangen water and acidic water.


How does electrolysis of water runs?

Tap water flows through a series of electrodes in the presence of minerals which provide chemical charge, through which passes an electric current. (If these ions are not present in the water, e.g. during reverse osmosis, electrolysis is not possible, therefore, such water is called “dead water”).

DThe electrodes are positively and negatively charged.
When the ionizer using electrolysis brings to the water slight electrical charge, water separates into alkaline, alkaline (OH¯) and acidic (H+) water.

Electrolysis is thus structuring the water by ionization. Such water is also called ionized water or structured.

Alkaline water is rich in active hydrogen, or more precisely hydrogen gas (H₂) and hydroxyl ions (OH¯).

It has reductive ability, it is alkaline. It binds harmful free radicals, that is neutralizes them. It is the electron donor.

Chemical reaction at the cathode (negative electrode) is as follows:
4 H₂O + 4 elektróny = 2H₂ + 4 OH¯

Acid water is rich in active oxygen (O₂, gas) and hydrogen ions (H+). It has oxidisability, causing oxidation.

Chemical reaction at the anode (positive electrode) is as follows:
2H₂O = O₂ + 4H+ + 4 electrons


Does acidic stomach environment neutralises alkaline Kangen water™?

It seems like a logical conclusion but it is not so. The normal physiology is that the stomach is not always an acidic environment. Hydrochloric acid is released from the parietal cells lining the stomach in response to the presence of the protein and the mechanical stretching of the stomach. Water, same as alcohol, is absorbed directly through the gastric mucosa without stimulating the release of hydrochloric acid. Therefore, if a person drinks alkaline water before meals when the stomach is empty, neutral, it is quickly absorbed and it circulates throughout the body. 


Questions about the devices:

When should I use the reset switch?

Use the reset switch (LeveLuk) or the filter (a beep should sound) when you first set LeveLuk. The switch is located under the black cover (for LeveLuk SD 501 Platinum under the silver cover) on the left front of the unit. By pressing the switch, a correct display of all information on the LCD display is made possible. For example, the unit will report when there is too little or too much water, or will trigger the alarm if water is inadvertently inadequate, or make sure that the water flow is adjusted.


How many years does the electrolytic chamber remain functional?

If the appliance is regularly cleaned, the electrolyzer chamber should be kept for 15 years. The device must be cleaned at regular intervals to maintain the maximum efficiency.

The electrode plate in the LeveLuk electrolytic chamber is thicker and larger than comparable ones made by other companies and therefore more high-quality. This increases the capacity and the lifetime, that is, the ability of the water ionization as well as the production of maximum water quantities. The electrode plates are made of titanium of the highest quality. The titanium is coated with platinum, so the electrode plates do not rust at all.


Why is the device cleaned automatically?

Because the accumulation of minerals, which are attached to the electrode, reduces the electrolysis capacity. If you use LeveLuk in a region where the water has a high mineral content, we recommend switching to "beauty" water daily and letting the water flow for 2-3 minutes.

The device must be cleaned at regular intervals to maintain its maximum performance. If the water electrolysis lasts longer than 15 minutes, the automatic cleaning system of the LeveLuks switches on after 20 seconds. Regular cleaning of the device increases the lifetime of the electrolytic chamber!


How does the automatic water drain function?

The device LeveLuk is equipped with an automatic drainage system, which prevents the contamination and spreading of bacteria from the water residues. The automatic water drain is activated when you turn off the water. It takes about 30 seconds for all the water in the electrolytic chamber, filter and all channels to drain through the gray hose.


What is especially the production of strongly acidic water in LeveLuk?

Because strongly acidic water contributes much to the preservation of ecological hygiene in the household. Previously, strongly acidic water could only be produced in large appliances for institutional use (also called hypersauric water). Enagic, manufacturer of LeveLuks, is convinced that this water is a great contribution to maintaining ecological hygiene in the household. For this reason, our device allows for quite large amounts of strongly acidic water (for disinfecting) and at the same time also to produce strongly alkaline water (dissolves fat / removes pesticides from fruits and vegetables).




Antioxidant acts like a broom of the harmful free radicals in the body because it gives the free radical excess electron and thus suppresses its hyperreactivity, harmful hyperacidity of the body.


Free radicals

They are unstable, ie, chemically speaking, incomplete substances that "steal" electrons from other molecules.

They damage the cells, for example, cells and natural enzymes. Free radicals naturally occur as by-products when the body converts oxygen into energy. When they enter the body, it can cause damage to the tissue and the fine cell membrane. They can even speed up the aging process.

Our body has a natural defense system against free radicals. But the latest studies show that the counter-lifestyle is a lot of free radicals and that our natural defense system can not adequately protect us.

For this reason, many people have to consume food and beverages containing antioxidants that can release electrons to the free radicals, thereby suppressing their hyperreactivity and destroying them.

Water Electrolysis

Electrolysis is a restructuring of the water by water ionization.
Drinking water contains mineral ions of magnesium (Mg), calcium (Ca) and sodium (Na).

The water flows in the device, in the so-called ionizer, through electrode plates (platinum coated titanium plates). Magnesium, calcium and sodium give the electric charge, through which current flows.
In the electrolysis the water is divided into alkaline, basic (OH) and acid (H +).
This water is called ionized water. If these mineral ions are not present in the water, for example in the case of reverse osmosis, electrolysis is not possible. This water is called "dead water".



Kangen means "return to the origin" in Japanese. Exceptional characteristics of the Kangen water bring the body to its original condition. Kangen Water is a healthy drinking water, made using an innovative water technology from Enagic. Ionized Kangen water is antioxidant, neutralizing free radicals. It is alkaline, neutralizes the hyperacidity of the body. And it is structured to hydrate the body better.


Structured water (water molecule microcluster)

Water molecules cluster in clusters. Lead water is predominantly formed by macroclusters consisting of water clusters with 15-20 molecules. During electrolysis / ionization, these clusters are divided into smaller, known as microclusters with 5-6 molecules. Smaller molecular clusters give the water excellent hydrating properties, high solubility and better permeability of the cells.


ORP, oxidation-reduction potential

ORP or oxidation reduction potential is a value that indicates how much the test sample oxidizes or reduces. It is measured with the so-called ORP measuring device in Millivolts, mV.

If the substance, in our case water, has antioxidant effects, the measured values are negative. Such water can neutralize harmful free radicals. For example, Kangenwasser achieves a redox value of -300 mV to -400 mV, the lemon approx. -50 mV and green tea has a redox value -100 mV.

If the measured values are positive, the substance does not contain any antioxidants. Drinking water in bottles, including the better quality water Evian as well as tap water have positive values and therefore have no antioxidants. They are sour, causing an over-acidification of the body. The overacidification of the body is considered to be the cause of many chronic diseases.


PH (pH, potential hydrogen, hydrogen potential)

As the distance is measured in kilometers, the value of acid or alkalinity is measured in pH, such as the water on a scale from 0 to 14. Alkaline water has a pH higher than 7. Neutral water has pH Value 7. Acidic water has pH lower than 7.

Depending on the ratio of the hydrogen ions (H +) to the hydroxide ions, the water is acid (higher number of hydrogen ions), neutral (equal number) or alkaline (higher number of hydroxide ions).

Our body maintains a slightly alkaline pH. Industrialized food, bottled drinking water, non-alcoholic drinks are sour. Even, for example, sprite or pepsi are very sour, that is, harmful to health. Tap water is slightly alkaline. Kangen water is more alkaline, therefore helps to compensate for the harmful hyperacidity of the body.


PH test liquid (pH drop, supplied with the device)

PH test liquid is an ethanol solution that reacts with the liquids according to their pH.

After the solution is added to the clear liquid, it reacts with color change according to the ph-diagram. We recommend using the Enagic pH test fluid. The colors of the individual pH values correspond to the pH diagrams of Enagic.


Reverse osmosis

The filter process of reverse osmosis can be effective where no water is treated by the waterworks and is also used in production plants for the production of drinking water in bottles.

The disadvantage of this process is that it removes healthy, naturally occurring minerals in water such as calcium and magnesium. These minerals fulfill important functions in the human body and give the water a good taste. The water produced by reverse osmosis is a health hazard, eg metabolic disorders, osteoporosis, etc.

Another problem of osmosis is that dangerous chemicals such as pesticides, herbicides and chlorine are molecularly smaller than water, and can therefore flow unimpeded through the filter.
